Lions Avenue Community Information

Considered the western gateway into the District, and the first community you arrive in when you traverse the Lions Gate Bridge into North Vancouver, this area is home to several mature residential neighbourhoods, as well as the bustling commercial area along Marine Drive.

Lions Gate is bounded to the west by the Capilano River and on the east by the City of North Vancouver, to the south by the Squamish First Nation, and the rail lines and waterfront industry that contribute so greatly to our economy, and on its northern edge by the TransCanada Highway. The community includes the neighbourhoods of Lower Capilano, Woodcroft, Pemberton Heights, Pemberton, and Norgate.

Located at the crossroads of Marine Drive and Capilano Road, Lions Gate is one of the District's key village centres, and will undergo a major revitalization over the coming years into a vibrant residential core for the area.
